A two-day Digital Accessibility training program for visually impaired court staff members from District and Taluk courts across India was organized by the Supreme Court E-Committee. The training was conducted at New Delhi’s esteemed Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA).

Participants in the program came from a number of different states, including Delhi, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Madras, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, and Telangana.

The training’s main goal was to improve the digital infrastructure of the Indian court system and make it more accessible to people with disabilities, under the inspirational guidance of Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud.

Each participant received a laptop that was already loaded with accessibility programmes like NVDA and Jaws in order to facilitate hands-on instruction. Participants were able to learn from experience and improve their knowledge of digital accessibility thanks to this hands-on approach.

SN Tripathi, the Director General of IIPA, presented diplomas to participants after the programme. R Arulmozhiselvi, Member (HR) of the E-Committee, oversaw the program’s coordination, with the help of special educators Rajender Singh Negi from NIEPVD and Inderpreet Singh from NAB, as well as Dr. Surabhi Pandey from IIPA.

The Supreme Court E-Committee promotes inclusion and accessibility through such programmes, ensuring that everyone has access to justice regardless of their skills.
