Maharashtra Government Announces Post-Retirement Allowance Of ₹20,000 For High Court Judges

The judges of the Bombay High Court will receive post-retirement benefits and allowances, according to a decision made by the Maharashtra government.

The State will be responsible for paying the retiring Chief Justices and judges of the Bombay High Court. The allowance shall be given for housekeeping, driver, and telephone expenses. Not only this, but their surviving spouses would also be eligible for the benefits.

The allowance shall be as follows:

  • Rs.14,000 in order to hire a chauffeur and one domestic help, and
  • Rs. 6,000 to cover telephone expenses.

Along with the retirement benefits, these allowances would be provided by the Union Law Ministry. A pension amount, leave encashment, and a death-cumulative-retirement gratuity are some of these advantages.
