Law Scholarships

Attaining law scholarships can really aid a student for their desired goals. The key to getting a scholarship is having a thorough research to understand what kind of scholarships they are eligible for and the one that works best for them. After that, the aspirant must submit an error free, timely application.

INDIAN INSTITUTIONS

1. PNB HOUSING FINANCE LIMITED PROTSAHAN SCHOLARSHIP

The scholarship is provided by Punjab National Bank Housing Finance Limited. The time of application is between December and February. The location of study will be India.

Who can apply: It is open only for students pursuing the third/fourth year of BA LLB programme. Applicants from Army Institute of Law, Mohali can apply. The minimum percentage of marks to be obtained by the applicant should be 65% in class 12 and Graduation (first & second year). The annual income of the family should be less than INR 8 Lakh.

Package: In the scholarship programme of 2021-22, INR 75,000 per scholar was provided.

How to apply: Apply online via Buddy4Study portal. The documents required are – Photo identity proof, Address proof, Income proof (Form 16A/income certificate from government authority/salary slips, etc.), Proof of admission (college ID card/Bona fide certificate/etc.), Current academic year fee receipt, Course fee structure, Bank account details of the scholarship applicant (cancelled cheque/passbook copy).

2. ADITYA BIRLA GROUP SCHOLARSHIP

The scholarship is provided by Aditya Birla Group. The application time is between June and July. The location of study will be India.

Who can apply: It is available for students pursuing Law from:

  • National Academy of Legal Studies and Research, Hyderabad
  • National Law School of India University, Bangalore.
  • The WB National University of Juridical Services, Kolkata
  • Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar.

Selection Procedure: The top 20 students (in terms of their entrance exam ranking at the time of admission) are invited to apply through the Dean of the respective institutes.

100 students from law campuses will be evaluated based on the information given in the application form. The academic excellence and co-curricular activities will be evaluated for selection to the next round. The applicants will write essays which will be reviewed by a panel and will be shortlisted to the next round. Those students will be given a chance for an interview which will determine the best 8 students from law who will be named Aditya Birla Scholars.

Package: Rs. 1,80,000 per annum or fees at actuals, whichever is lower.

How to apply: The application form will be available from the official site of Aditya Birla Group. Submit the filled-up application form to the Dean of the applicant’s institution. The interviews will be held in Mumbai for which the shortlisted candidates will be provided accommodation, travel reimbursement and a token allowance.

INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITIES

1. SUSSEX INDIA SCHOLARSHIP

It is provided by the University of Sussex, UK. The last date of application is September 1, 2021. The number of scholarships available is unlimited. The study location is UK.

Who can apply: Indian students who are classified as overseas for fee purposes. They must be a self-financing student and have accepted an offer to study an eligible Masters course at Sussex.

Package: Tuition fee reduction of GBP 3,000.

How to apply: Register your interest in the scholarship via PG Apply when you accept our offer of a place on an eligible Masters course.  If you have applied via one of our overseas representatives, you will need to ask them to do this on your behalf. You will only be able to accept one University of Sussex scholarship. You must declare your interest in the scholarship via PG Apply before you register on your Masters degree. Information about the scholarship will be included in your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Study) for your visa application. If the scholarship information is not showing on your CAS or you want to register for the scholarship after the CAS has been created, please contact the Admissions.

2. IGLP RESIDENTIAL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM, HARVARD LAW SCHOOL, USA

This is provided by Institute for Global Law & Policy (IGLP), Harvard Law School. The time of application is between December and February and the fellowship is from August 1st to June 30th.  It is expected to be launched by January 2022. The number of fellowships awarded each year is subjected to available funding. The study location is USA.

Who can apply: The scholarship is applicable for doctoral or postdoctoral scholars who are pursuing research in areas of social justice, economic policy and global law.

Package: A competitive stipend, a shared office at the Institute, a computer and printer and access to the libraries of Law School and the libraries at Harvard.

How to apply: Apply online via the official website of Harvard Law School.

3. VICE CHANCELLOR’S REGIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

This is provided by the University of Buckingham, UK. The deadline of application is 31 Aug 2021.

Who can apply: It is open to all international students. Applicants must enroll in any undergraduate course of study at the university. Applicants must demonstrate good academic merit and English Language requirements.

Package: Successful applicants of the Vice Chancellor’s Regional Scholarship 2021/22 will receive a £2000 fee reduction, paid in four termly installments throughout your first year of study. 

How to apply: One must complete the scholarship application form that is provided in the site of University of Buckingham. 

4. INTERNATIONAL UNDERGRADUATE HIGH ACHIEVER SCHOLARSHIP

This is provided by the University of Buckingham, UK. The deadline of application is 31 Aug 2021.

Who can apply: It is open to all international students. Applicants must enroll in any undergraduate course of study at the university. Applicants must have achieved the equivalent of AAB at A level in their local qualifications. Applicants must demonstrate good academic merit and English Language requirements.

Package: Successful applicants of the International Undergraduate High Achiever Scholarship 2021/22 will receive a £2,500 fee reduction, paid in four termly installments throughout your first year of study.

How to apply: One must complete the scholarship application form that is provided in the site of University of Buckingham. 

5. KENT INSTITUTE INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

This is provided by the Kent Institute, Australia. The deadline of application is always open. The study of location is Australia. 

Who can apply: Open to international students. Applicants must enroll in a full-time undergraduate Higher Education course.  Applicants must demonstrate English Language requirements.

Package: Successful applicants will receive a scholarship award of a 30% reduction in tuition fees for the duration of their course.

How to apply:  Read the International Student Scholarship information and guidelines (that includes terms and conditions about retaining the scholarship for the duration of your course). Complete and sign the International Student Scholarship application form and submit at the same time as applying for your course. Wait to hear back from Kent – if you are successful, you will be notified in writing after acceptance of your Offer of Admission and prior to the commencement date.

6. GOETHE GOES GLOBAL MASTER SCHOLARSHIPS

This is provided by the  Goethe University of Frankfurt, Germany. The deadline of application varies. There are 20 awards. The study of location is Germany. 

Who can apply: the applicant is well versed in academic discipline and particularly interested in research. They must hold or are on track for an excellent or above average Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from a university outside Germany.

Package: Goethe University will provide you, as a scholarship holder, with:

  • A monthly stipend of 1,000 € for the standard period of study in a Master programme at Goethe-University (generally 2 years).
  • Excellent academic supervision by professors and academic staff who work in most cases in the university’s most distinguished research units.
  • The option to write your Master’s thesis and other seminar papers or do an internship in their respective research unit.
  • Support and orientation by an experienced Master’s student buddy during your studies.
  • Access to seminars focusing on professional skills at our Graduate Academy GRADE, normally open only to PhD students and postdocs.
  • Innovative research environment and networks to fellow scholarship holders and other advanced researchers.
  • Career support through Goethe University’s Research Support Office.
  • Insight and involvement in the activities of multidisciplinary research groups at Goethe University.

How to apply:  Applications must be submitted via mail and the online portal.

7. GRIFFITH UNIVERSITY REMARKABLE SCHOLARSHIPS

It is offered for Bachelors, Masters degree in the field of Subjects offered by Griffith university. The deadline for the sending your application is 03 Dec 2021. The location of study is Australia.

Who can apply: Applicant must be an International Student, who wanted to complete his or her further education at Griffith University. Applicants must have a minimum GPA mentioned in the site for different nationals, have satisfied all appropriate entry requirements for the proposed degree program, including results of a previous study and English language proficiency as per Griffith University’s entry requirements.

Package: The successful applicants will receive a 50% tuition fee waiver.

How to apply: Apply to study an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at Griffith University. Apply for the scholarship by the closing date. You will need to include academic records and a personal statement. A University panel will review your application.

8. UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM LAW SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS

This is provided by the University of Birmingham, UK. The time of application is between March and May. The study location is UK.

Who can apply: The students applying for the following courses can apply for this scholarship–

  • LL.B
  • LL.B for Graduates
  • LL.B International Law and Globalisation
  • LL.B with Criminology
  • LL.B with Business
  • LL.B with French Law
  • LL.B with German Law

Note: The student must be entering the first year of an undergraduate programme based at Birmingham’s UK campus.

The applicants must have obtained an offer of admission for the above-mentioned courses at the University of Birmingham. They must be capable of self-funding the cost of living and other additional costs related to study in the UK. They must not be an already registered student at the University of Birmingham.

Package: GBP 3000 per annum during the term of the scholarship.

How to apply: Complete an application to study for any of the undergraduate law courses at the University of Birmingham, UK.  Wait for an offer from the University. Apply for Law Scholarships. Fill in the application form with the required details. Attach the necessary documents. Submit the application.
