About the Opportunity:

Applications are invited for two project-linked manpower. The manpower (JRFs) may be allowed to register for the Ph.D. program subject to satisfactory performance and the incumbent academic regulations and approvals and be provided fellowships for three years thereafter.

Eligibility:

  • LLM or LLB or equivalent or higher degrees with relevant technical background (Preferable CS/Data Science/ or equivalent).
  • MSc (CS/ IT/ equivalent) or MCA or BTech (CSE/ IT/ ECE/ DS/ equivalent) or MTech (CSE/ IT/ ECE/ DS/ equivalent) or equivalent or higher degrees.

Responsibilities:

Tasks assigned by the PI/ Co-PI/ university primarily to achieve the project’s objectives. The responsibilities include:

  • Gather existing legal documents from the Appex Courts and relevant laws. Annotate and organize the data, perform data cleaning and validation processes. Collaborate with domain experts to annotate and summarize the documents, ensuring accuracy and relevance.The Project Manpower (JRFs) need to visit the High Courts regularly to collect existing legal documents.
  • Develop and train machine learning models using datasets for case outcome prediction and AI algorithms for Legal Document Summarization. Implement algorithms and finetune models for accuracy and reliability.
  • Design and develop a user-friendly interface for case outcome prediction and legal document summarization.
  • Needs to be associated with Software (LIDSS) Prototype Development, Testing, and Deployment.
  • Conducting outreach programs and workshops to provide training sessions for users on how to effectively utilize the LIDSS platform.
  • Preparing project-related documentation, reports, and mandatory declarations, including detailed monthly and quarterly presentations on project-related activities.
  • Liaising with institutional and non-governmental bodies to achieve the project objectives.

Fellowship:

A fellowship amount of ₹ 42,550.00 per month (Including 15% HRA) will be provided till the project ends. Subject to the satisfactory performance of the candidate, a fellowship as per University norms at the time of conversion may be provided for a total of five years, including the project’s duration.
