Former Acting Chief Justice Of Gujarat HC, Justice Vijay Manohar Sahai Passes Away

Former Acting Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court and Former Judge of Allahabad High Court, Justice Vijay Manohar Sahai passes away due to a kidney ailment.

About Justice V.M. Sahai

Born in August 1953, Justice Vijay graduated in law from the University of Allahabad in the year 1975 and he got enrolled himself as an advocate in the year 1976 and started practising at the High Court of Allahabad.

Justice Sahai in his early days started practice in the chambers of his father Late Shri R.M. Sahai, who was a retired judge of the Supreme Court in 1995.

As an Advocate, Justice Sahai mainly practised in Civil, Tax, Revenue and Constitutional sides.

Justice Sahai worked as a brief holder for the State of Uttar Pradesh from 1983 to 1989. He was appointed as the Standing Counsel for the New India Assurance Co., Union Bank of India, Allahabad Bank, U.P. State Electricity Board.

In the year 1999, Justice Vijay was elevated as the permanent judge of the Allahabad High Court.

Later in 2010, he was transferred to the Gujarat High Court wherein he was appointed as the acting Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court. 

Justice Vijay Manohar Sahai retired on August 12, 2015.
