In order to curb the increase and spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the State Government has announced lockdown from 10th May 2021 to 24th May 2021 and by virtue of its notification (dated: 08th May 2021), the movement was restricted of the general public but Judiciary and Courts were under an exception to this restriction.

“The Judiciary includes Hon’ble Judges, Courts and Advocates and hence the A few advocates being part of Judiciary, they may not be restricted to access their office and Courts during lockdown and they may be permitted to access their office freely,” the Council urges.

“Therefore, we request your good self to issue appropriate directions to all the police Officers of Tamil Nadu concerned to ensure that the lawyers may be given essential access to the courts and their offices to represent the cases during lockdown period,” the letter of request concludes.
