Arvind Datar Appointed As Amicus Curiae By Delhi HC In Plea Seeking Exemption Of GST On Oxygen Concentrators Imported For Personal Use

The Delhi High Court has appointed Senior Advocate Arvind Datar as an Amicus Curiae to assist the Court in a plea seeking exemption of Goods and Services Tax (GST) on importing of Oxygen Concentrators for personal use.

The division bench of Justices Rajiv Shakhder and Talwant Singh has passed the order of his appointment.

In this matter, the Court at its sitting on May 05 (Thursday) has observed that the Central Government should review its stand of not exempting the Goods and Services Tax (GST) levied on Oxygen Concentrators imported for personal use.

On Thursday (May 06), the Finance Ministry of India conveyed to the Delhi High Court its inability to comply with this Court’s order issued on Wednesday (May 05).
