The Allahabad High Court’s Lucknow bench slammed the censor board and the creators of the recently released Pan-India film ‘Adipurush’ on Monday, amid an ongoing dispute over the film’s dialogues.

The judge during the hearing on a motion to suppress some disputed dialogues in ‘Adipurush,’ asked the following questions:

What is it that the censor board keeps doing?”

“What do you want future generations to know?”

The said petition was filed by Advocate Kuldeep Tiwati. The absence of the producer, director, and other parties from the hearing was questioned by the court.

In the instant case, the next hearing was decided to be scheduled on Tuesday (27th July 2023) wherein the epic Ramayana adaption “Adipurush,” which is directed by Mr. Om Raut, received harsh criticism since its release. Not only this but many reviewers and critics expressed concern over specific phrases used in the movie.

Phrases like ‘Marega bete’, ‘Bua ka bagicha hain kya’, and ‘Jalegi tere baap ki’ are a few of the sentences for which the producers have received criticism.

Due to the harsh internet criticism and fury response from the audience to the film, the creators of “Adipurush” have revised the dialogues.
