On 15th July, the Bar Association received an anonymous letter alleging that Sessy Xavier had no LL.B degree and enrollment certificate. An inquiry held by the Bar Association found that Sessi had given the roll number of a practising advocate from Thiruvananthapuram.

She was served a notice to give an explanation within 24 hours, but she did not respond. Later she was subsequently expelled from the Association and a police complaint was filed by The Bar Association secretary, Mr.  Abilash.
