The Allahabad High Court has launched an online portal for the public to access Hindi translations of the Court judgments. The portal was officially launched on August 25th under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Pritinkar Diwakar.
The High Court began publishing judgements that were translated into Hindi in March 2023. This action was taken soon after Justice Pritinker Diwaker had taken oath as the new Chief Justice of the Court.
Landmark judgments of the Supreme Court and the Allahabad High Court will be published in the portal to make the public “aware of their rights and duties“. These judgments can be accessed from the link ‘Translated Judgments’ on the main page of the official website of the High Court.
The Court has clarified that these translated judgments will be used for personal information only and not for any official purpose.
The launch ceremony was attended by Justice Surya Prakash Kesarwani, Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta, Justice Anjani Kumar Mishra, Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi, Justice Siddharth Verma and Justice Soumitra Dayal Singh.
Recently Kerala High Court, Delhi High Court, Bombay High Court and Himachal Pradesh High Court have also started publishing decisions in their regional language.
