About NorthCap University:
The NorthCap University (NCU), is promoted by the Educate India Society that was founded in 1996. Previously an engineering and management college (ITM), the institute gained the status of a State Private university in 2009, under Act No. 25/2009 by the Legislature of the State of Haryana and accorded UGC approval under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956. NCU rebranded itself on 31 August 2015 vide Haryana Government Ordinance No. 2 of 2015, followed by a UGC notification dated 26 August 2015. NCU is a single campus university located in Sector 23-A, Gurugram, Haryana.
It has been accredited with ‘A’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) 2016-2021. In a span of a few years, we have emerged as one of the foremost educational institutions in North India. About the Speakers:
Advocate Shreya Singh:
Adv. Shreya Singh is an alumna of 2012-17 batch of School of Law, The NorthCap University, Gurugram. She is an Advocate & Legal Consultant enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi and has an experience of 5+ years in Litigation. She is also a member of Delhi High Court Bar Association.
Shreya’s key areas of practice are Commercial Dispute Resolution, Insolvency and Bankruptcy and Corporate Advisory. She regularly appears before the Supreme Court of India, High Court of Delhi, National Company Law Tribunal, Debt Recovery Tribunal, Consumer Fora and various other Tribunals / Authorities in Delhi NCR Region.
Shreya is also actively involved with academia and has worked as Research Assistant under Dr.Abha Yadav, Deputy Chief Registrar (Legal), Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi in her publication being “Ragging: Legal Aspects and Institutional Framework” published by Universal Law Publishers under the aegis of Lexis Nexis. She has visited several times as guest lecturer at NorthCap University, Gurugram i.e. her alma mater and has also authored several articles that have been published in various reputed journals including India Law Journal and Legal Desire International Journal of Law. She is regularly invited by various law Schools for judging competitions such as Moot Court, Client Consultation Competition etc. at National as well as International Level.
Advocate HarshitDusad:
Harshit is an alumn of 2011-16 batch of School of Law, The NorthCap University, Gurugram. His focus areas are banking & finance, project finance and trade finance. His experience includes work on matters pertaining to foreign currency lending, rupee financing and security creation in relation thereto. He has advised and assisted clients with their documentation with respect to general lending & financing mandates, project finance deals in relation to sectors such as power, manufacturing, construction, rails, mines, etc., resource raising transactions by way of interbank borrowings, bank finance to NBFCs, etc, and transactions involving financial commitment by way of overseas direct investments.
He has also played instrumental role in structuring and strategizing transactions pertaining to shipping finance, construction finance and real estate financing (including transactions involving lease rental discounting mechanisms).
Harshit draws nexus from his exposure to the financial sector in structuring and strategizing security arrangements in relation to charge over movables, immovables, tangible and intangible assets for banks, financial institutions and corporates in their financial dealings and further advises them on stamp duty implications for a varied array of financing documents and in ensuring amenability with various execution formalities.
Harshit also advises on general regulatory and advisory aspects pertaining to the financial sector, including matters involving transition from IBORs, Non-MCLR based lending, etc. He is known for his problem solving and business friendly approach, while providing clients with legal solutions. Before joining JSA, he was working with Juris Corp, another banking & finance law firm in India.
