Too Yumm And Haldiram’s “Bhoot Chips” Dispute Is Sent To Mediation By The Delhi High Court.

On February 4, 2025, Advocate Mr. Chander M. Lall, Mr. Ayush Sharma, and Ms. Annanya Mehan filed a petition in the Delhi High Court accusing Haldiram of copying the packaging for Too Yumm’s “Bhoot Chips” in the case of Guiltfree Industries v. Anantjeet Industries LLP.

Too Yumm discovered in January that Haldiram had introduced Takatak Bhoot Chilli, which appeared in packaging similar to that of their Bhoot Chips brand. The primary reason for the lawsuit is to defend Too Yumm’s intellectual property rights since Haldiram’s packaging would deceive customers in the marketplace because it has become a widely recognized brand identity.

Too Yumm also claimed during the hearings that the Haldiram firm’s name was purposefully left removed from the case in order to prevent the company from appearing in court.

Haldiram was ordered by the court to stop producing and selling goods with the disputed packaging, but the sale of the stock that was already on the market was permitted for which a deadline of February 4th is given.

However, by upholding its previous order, the court refereed the dispute to mediation.

The matter is scheduled for mediation on February 19.
