Recently, the Supreme Court of India passed a circular in which it declared that all lawyers, litigants, media professionals, and other Supreme Court stakeholders now have access to free Wi-Fi. The action was taken as a part of the Supreme Court’s e-initiatives.
According to the circular announcing the change, as of today, i.e., July 3, 2023, the free WiFi facility will be accessible at the Chief Justice’s Court, Court Nos. 2 to 5, including the corridor and plaza in front, both waiting for areas in front of the plaza canteen and Press Lounges I and II.
By logging in to SCI_WiFi, the user can gain access by entering his or her mobile number, getting an OTP, and using it for authentication.
The circular stated that:
“The facility will be extended to all the Court Rooms and adjoining areas, Bar Library-I & II, Ladies Bar Room and Bar Lounge in phased manner.”
