Justice Surya Kant of the Supreme Court recently emphasized that aspiring lawyers don’t need influential connections or a special background for a successful legal career. He urged legal professionals to focus on hard work, dismissing the misconception that success hinges on associations with senior lawyers or government offices. According to Justice Kant, a thriving career in law is open to those who diligently assist courts in delivering genuine justice to litigants.
During the opening of a diagnostic center at the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association, Justice Kant emphasized the need to provide these services to litigants, citing their crucial role in the judicial system. In order to restore confidence in the judicial system, he urged attorneys to help reduce the mounting backlog of cases by highlighting how crucial it is to expedite trials.
Justice Kant also recommended senior solicitors spend money mentoring the next generation in order to create a positive atmosphere in the legal community. During the occasion, general advocates for Punjab, Gurminder Singh, and Haryana, Baldev Raj Mahajan, also presented their perspectives.
