Skadden has elevated Sharmistha Chakrabarti to partner in its international arbitration practice. As part of this transition, she will move from the firm’s New York office to its Singapore base.
A graduate of NUJS (2008) and Harvard Law School (LL.M., 2012), Ms Chakrabarti joined Skadden in 2012. Her expertise spans complex commercial and investor-state arbitrations across telecom, oil & gas, and media sectors.
She has represented clients under ICC, LCIA, and UNCITRAL rules. Notably, she led the Devas Multimedia arbitration against India, securing a high-profile win in a Delhi-seated ICC case.
Recognized in Benchmark Litigation’s “40 & Under” and India Business Law Journal’s A-List 2025, Chakrabarti’s rise reflects both legal excellence and global recognition.
Her relocation strengthens Skadden’s already prominent Asia-Pacific arbitration team. It also underscores the firm’s commitment to nurturing cross-border talent and expanding its reach in international dispute resolution.
