Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University (NLU), Prayagraj and AnantLaw have led the ‘Sankalp 51A@Pahalgam’ Initiative.

The institutions have partnered to offer pro bono legal aid to the victims and families affected by the recent Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir. The initiative focuses on assisting with compensation claims, providing legal representation before authorities, and ensuring that victims’ rights are safeguarded. All support will be offered at no cost, making legal assistance accessible to those in need during this difficult time.

RPNLU’s law students, under faculty mentorship, will work alongside AnantLaw’s legal team to assist with documentation, petition drafting, and grassroots outreach—bringing practical legal help to those in distress. The collaboration is also expected to include legal literacy camps and on-ground support through digital and physical platforms.

This Initiative not only strengthens access to justice for underserved communities but also empowers young legal minds to engage meaningfully with real-world human rights challenges through socially responsive lawyering.

Sr. Prof. (Dr.) Usha Tandon, Vice-Chancellor of NLU Prayagraj, emphasized the university’s commitment to justice and humanitarian service- “In moments of profound loss, the commitment to justice and humanitarian service must rise above all. Through Sankalp 51A@Pahalgam, we aim not only to provide legal support but also to stand in solidarity with the victims’ families, reaffirming our constitutional duties and collective responsibility as citizens.”

“By connecting affected families with necessary resources and rights, the initiative seeks to restore hope and provide pathways for long-term rehabilitation.”Ms. Anu Monga, Partner at AnantLaw, highlighted.
