Public Hearings By ICJ On Israel’s Policies And Practices In Palestinian Territory

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has announced upcoming public hearings regarding a request for an advisory opinion concerning the Legal Consequences arising from the Policies and Practices of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem. These hearings are scheduled to take place from February 19th to 26th, 2024, at the Peace Palace in The Hague, which serves as the Court’s headquarters.

A significant number of nations and international organizations, totaling 52 States and three international bodies, have expressed their intention to participate in the oral proceedings before the Court. This indicates the global interest and involvement in the matter under consideration by the ICJ.

The hearings will provide a platform for presenting arguments and evidence from various parties involved in the case. It is anticipated that these proceedings will facilitate a thorough examination of the legal implications and consequences of the policies and practices of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem.
