Nationwide Mediation Drive from July 1

From 1st July, 2025, courts across India will participate in a large-scale mediation to resolve long-pending disputes through amicable settlement. The coordinated campaign, titled Mediation for Nation, will be led by the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC) of the Supreme Court in collaboration with High Court Mediation Centres across the nation.

Spanning over four weeks, this initiative aims to resolve cases that have been delayed, particularly those that are suitable for consensual outcomes. The campaign will run until 31st July, 2025, which is National Mediation Day.

District courts and mediation centres are encouraged to identify matters suitable for mediation, including civil, family, matrimonial, and commercial cases, and actively facilitate their disposal through mutual agreement. The initiative reflects the judiciary’s growing emphasis on alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms.

Judicial officers, trained mediators, and court staff will collaborate to enhance awareness and accessibility of mediation within litigant communities. Special outreach activities, including orientation programs and public campaigns, are also anticipated as part of the effort to establish mediation as a viable and efficient path to justice.
