In a startling turn of events, Justice Anil K Narendran, Justice G Girish, and Justice P.G. Ajithkumar of the Kerala High Court, along with their family members, narrowly avoided the tragic terrorist attack that struck Pahalgam on April 22. The group had vacated the area just hours before the incident unfolded.

According to a report by The Hindu, the attack, which occurred in the afternoon, resulted in the death of 28 individuals and left several others critically injured. Fortunately, the judges and their families had already left the site, escaping harm by a whisker.

The group had arrived in Jammu and Kashmir on April 17 for a personal visit, during which they toured multiple districts and well-known tourist destinations. Their travel itinerary included a stay in Pahalgam on April 21, where they visited various scenic spots and interacted with the local environment.

On the morning of April 22, the judges and their families departed Pahalgam at approximately 9:30 AM, heading towards Srinagar, located nearly 90 kilometers away. They arrived in Srinagar around noon—just a few hours before terrorists launched the deadly assault in Pahalgam.

“The news that the judges were in the vicinity around the time of the attack raised immediate concern within legal and judicial circles,” a source familiar with the matter stated.

However, it was later confirmed that the judicial delegation had exited the region well before the attack occurred and were completely safe.
