On 9th September 2025, the children of actress Karisma Kapoor approached the Delhi Court. They are seeking a share in the estate of their late father, businessman Sunjay Kapur, valued at around ₹30,000 crore.
The petition, filed through their mother, alleges that Priya Kapur, Sunjay Kapur’s third wife, has produced a forged will to exclude them from inheritance. Sunjay Kapur passed away in June 2025 in the United Kingdom.
Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur were married between 2003 and 2016 and have a son and a daughter. The children contend that Priya Kapur is attempting to take total control of the estate by relying on a disputed will dated 21st March, 2025, which leaves all assets solely to her.
The suit names Priya Kapur, her minor son, Sunjay Kapur’s mother Rani Kapur, and the alleged executor of the will, Shradha Suri Marwah, as defendants. It is further alleged that Priya Kapur, in collusion with Dinesh Agarwal and Nitin Sharma, withheld the will for over seven weeks before presenting it at a family meeting on 30th July, 2025.
According to the plaintiffs, the original will has never been shown to them, nor has any copy been provided. They argue that the document is forged, fabricated, and surrounded by suspicious circumstances.
The plea states that Priya Kapur’s actions indicate an attempt to usurp complete control of the estate, contrary to the rights of other legal heirs. The children have asked the Court to declare them Class I heirs and to grant each of them a one-fifth share in the estate.
As interim relief, they have sought an order restraining any dealings with Sunjay Kapur’s personal assets until the case is decided. The matter has been filed through advocates Shantanu Aggarwal of Lexster Law LLP and Madhulika Rai Sharma.
