On 3 September 2025, the Supreme Court Judge Justice Vikram Nath urged the judges of the Delhi High Court to initiate live streaming of Court proceedings. He remarked, “Delhi High Court has still not gone online. Live streaming is not available here in Delhi. The Delhi High Court must go live. That is my request.”

Justice Vikram Nath inaugurated the Delhi High Court Mobile App, the e-HRMS portal for judicial officers, the e-Office Pilot project and the onboarding of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi Appellate Tribunal & Juvenile Justice Boards on e-Courts. He also emphasised the importance of digital preservation of judicial records.

In his inaugural address, Justice Vikram Nath stated that these initiatives reaffirm the judiciary’s commitment to public scrutiny and accountability. He stated that “Transparency builds trust & trust is the foundation upon which justice rests. Without it, the law remains distant. With it, the law becomes a living reality for people.” Justice Nath highlighted that, for decades, litigants and lawyers had to endure delays & uncertainty regarding the status of their cases.

“Live Stream Proceedings reduces the burden of waiting, minimises procedural obstacles, and allows us to focus on what matters most the resolution of disputes. Justice is not the privilege of one class of courts or one category of litigants, it must be uniform, accessible & consistent across the board.”

Justice Vikram Nath noted that the projects launched provide a strong digital foundation, enabling the judiciary to modernise and respond to future needs. While emphasising that technology cannot replace the human conscience that guides judges, he stated that technology can and will enhance judges’ capacity to deliver justice swiftly and effectively.

“Now, the Delhi High Court is ensuring that our institutions are prepared to meet the challenges of tomorrow. They demonstrate that technology does not have to diminish the human element of justice; instead, it can strengthen it. It makes justice more accessible, transparent, and efficient. It brings the institution closer to the citizen, reminding us that the ultimate purpose of every reform, every digitized page, and every new app is to serve the people,” he concluded.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, announced an increase in the remuneration of Delhi High Court law researchers from Rs. 65,000 to Rs. 80,000 per month. She also stated that the government would provide free Wi-Fi in all courts in the national capital to ensure that judges, lawyers and litigants do not face any inconvenience due to poor network connectivity.
