JSA Partner and National Corporate Lead, Iqbal Khan, has resigned from the firm to join Cyril AmarchandMangaldas (CAM). This move marks a significant shift in Khan’s career, bringing his expertise to a new platform. JSA’s Joint Managing Partner, Vivek K. Chandy, confirmed Khan’s exit, stating that the firm would work out the modalities of his departure mutually, prioritizing client, team, and firm interests.
Khan’s Expertise and Background
Khan is a seasoned corporate lawyer with extensive experience in private equity, M&A, joint ventures, and foreign investments. His expertise spans multiple sectors, including healthcare, life sciences, technology, and manufacturing. Khan’s educational background includes a degree from the London School of Economics and a JD from Columbia Law School, qualifying him to practice in both India and New York. With a strong foundation in corporate law, Khan has established himself as a respected figure in the industry.
Previous Experience and Move to CAM
Prior to joining JSA, Khan was an Equity Partner at SAM, and he has also worked with top law firms Paul Weiss and Kirkland & Ellis in the US. His decision to join CAM is expected to strengthen the firm’s corporate practice. Cyril AmarchandMangaldas’ Managing Partner, Cyril Shroff, confirmed Khan’s onboarding, along with most of his existing team. This strategic move will likely enhance CAM’s capabilities and expertise in corporate law.

JSA’s Chandy noted the firm’s significant growth over the past 18 months, with successful integration of lateral partners aligning well with the firm’s culture and values. The firm is expected to continue its growth trajectory, despite Khan’s departure.
