About Part III:
PART III – Action Research & Resource Centre engages with intersectional themes of law, human rights and social justice with a vision to reclaim Fundamental Rights enshrined in Part III of the Indian Constitution. They strive to combine efforts with disadvantaged communities in their pursuit of justice, dignity, and systemic accountability through legal intervention, training, research, and advocacy. Part III works closely with survivors of systemic and identity-based violence along with community-based organizations.
About the Opportunity:
PART III is inviting applications from students to assist with our ongoing litigation and research projects. Internships are available at Delhi and Patna offices, with a preference for in-person work in Patna due to the need for fieldwork. Selected candidates will receive a modest honorarium for their contributions (up to rupees 5,000/-) and appropriate acknowledgement for academic writing upon the completion of the research project.
Number of Vacancies:
They are looking to engage 2-3 interns at a time, with a minimum commitment of one month.
Mode:
In-person but Remote and hybrid applications will also be considered.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The selected interns will be expected to complete the tasks assigned by their supervisor. These tasks may include but are not limited to, legal research, drafting and filing RTIs, compiling and organizing responses from relevant state departments, and writing articles for external and internal publications.
Eligibility Criteria:
This internship is intended mainly for students in law, sociology, governance, and social work at Indian educational institutions. Students from other disciplines with a keen interest in the area of work described above will also be considered. They seek candidates who have strong research and writing skills. Familiarity with legal systems/public databases and knowledge of one Indian language are desirable.
