On August 13, 2025, Swedish furniture giant IKEA unveiled its first outlet in Delhi at Pacific Mall, Tagore Garden. Spanning 15,000 sq. ft., the store strengthens IKEA’s presence in urban retail spaces.
The outlet showcases over 2,000 products, with about 800 smaller items available for immediate purchase. Shoppers can also access the full IKEA catalogue, with deliveries fulfilled from the company’s Farrukhnagar Customer Distribution Centre.
IKEA’s Country Selling Manager and Chief Business Officer, Ankit Ghai, shared in a LinkedIn post:
“We are thrilled to announce the launch of our first IKEA store at Pacific Mall, Tagore Garden, in Saddi Dilli on August 13. This is just the beginning, with many more coming soon.”
Highlights of the West Delhi store:
- Compact, city-format layout suited for urban malls
- Full IKEA range accessible through online orders
- Daily stock replenishment using electric hydraulic vehicles
- Swedish Café serving signature IKEA favourites
IKEA began online sales in Delhi-NCR in March 2025, extending to nine other cities across North India. The Farrukhnagar hub supports the brand’s growth in the region.
IKEA India CEO Patrik Antoni called the Delhi opening a major step toward making the brand more accessible to households. The company is focusing on smaller-format stores in high-footfall areas for quicker expansion.
The Delhi outlet follows IKEA’s ‘One Click, 30 Minutes Away’ concept. While large-format stores in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Navi Mumbai offer the complete experience, compact city outlets like those in South Mumbai and now West Delhi provide curated solutions and planning services for busy city lifestyles.
IKEA made its India retail debut in 2018 with a store in Hyderabad, followed by large-format outlets in Navi Mumbai and Bengaluru. With the Delhi store, IKEA strengthens its omnichannel strategy by combining e-commerce, large stores, and city outlets for a seamless customer experience.
