Radhika Munshi, an alumna of IIT Roorkee and IIM Ahmedabad, made a bold career shift by leaving a lucrative corporate job to establish Anorah, a saree brand aimed at modernizing traditional shopping experiences. Initially focused on securing the highest salary during her MBA at IIM Ahmedabad, she had never considered entrepreneurship. However, over time, she realized that financial success alone did not bring fulfillment, and she longed to create something of her own.
In a series of social media posts, Ms. Munshi shared how, despite societal expectations, she chose entrepreneurship over stability. She acknowledged facing initial doubts about whether customers would appreciate her designs, along with the pressure of stepping away from a conventional career path. However, she emphasized that no paycheck could match the excitement of running her own business.
Since launching Anorah in 2023, she has built a loyal customer base and received overwhelming support. Grateful for the response, she believes her journey proves that true success lies in following one’s passion, embracing risks, and finding purpose beyond traditional definitions of financial achievement and corporate prestige.
