IIM Calcutta has recently emerged as the champion of the NTPC Electron Quiz 2025, held at the NTPC Power Management Institute (PMI), Noida. The prestigious annual quiz witnessed intense competition, with FMS Delhi securing the first runner-up position, while another team from IIM Calcutta claimed the second runner-up spot.
The grand finale, held on February 28, 2025, was graced by Shri Anil Kumar Jadli, Director (HR), NTPC, who applauded the participants for their outstanding critical thinking and competitive spirit. Emphasizing the quiz’s legacy, he noted that NTPC Electron Quiz has been fostering young talent and knowledge-sharing for over two decades, inspiring students to strive for excellence in their personal and professional journeys.
This year’s edition saw an overwhelming participation of over 700 teams from across India, with the contest spanning nine regional rounds held in Ranchi, Patna, Lucknow, Raipur, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and Noida. Following three intense semi-finals, six teams advanced to the final showdown. The champions, Piyus Kedia and Amartya Saha from IIM Calcutta, secured a cash prize of Rs 50,000, while Ankita Shandilya and Shashank Tyagi from FMS Delhi received Rs 30,000 as the first runners-up. The second runner-up team, comprising Komal Vasudeva and Araya Arun from IIM Calcutta, was awarded Rs 20,000.
The event was attended by senior NTPC dignitaries, including Shri C Kumar, Executive Director (HR), Ms Rachna Singh Bhal, Chief General Manager (Strategic HR & Talent Management and Head-PMI), Shri V Jayanarayanan, General Manager (HR), Shri KM Prashanth, General Manager (Corporate Communication), and Shri Gautam Bose, CEO of Greycells and Quiz Master. As NTPC celebrates its golden jubilee, the Electron Quiz continues to strengthen industry-academia collaboration, reinforcing NTPC’s dedication to knowledge development and nurturing future leaders.
