The International Gemological Institute (IGI) has appointed Ms. Pooja Sahgal as its Global Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). IGI is a globally renowned authority in diamond and gemstone certification and a Blackstone portfolio company and has been for around 35 years, Ms. Sahgal brings a wealth of experience in marketing, branding, and digital strategy, having played pivotal roles in shaping some of the most well-established consumer brands.
Prior to joining IGI, Ms. Sahgal held leadership positions at Godrej Consumer Products Limited, where she served as Vice President & Head of Category Direction, Innovation, and Equity. In this role, she played a significant part in driving strategic brand innovation and category expansion. Before that, she was the Chief Marketing Officer at Raymond Consumer Care, where she successfully led brand transformation initiatives and business growth strategies.
Her professional journey also includes key roles at Kaya Limited, L’Oréal India, and Kellogg UK, where she spearheaded various marketing campaigns, product development initiatives, and consumer engagement strategies across multiple industries. With expertise in profit and loss management, brand positioning, and talent development, she has consistently delivered impact-driven results throughout her career.
Ms. Sahgal’s appointment comes at a time when IGI is actively looking to expand its global footprint and strengthen its market engagement strategies. Given her proven track record in marketing leadership, her inclusion in IGI’s leadership team is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing the institute’s brand positioning, fostering innovation, and driving deeper consumer engagement on an international scale.
