About HNLU IMUNC

Hidayatullah National Law University is organizing the seventh edition of Colossus and the fourth edition of its flagship event, the International Model United Nations Conference 2020, from 28th February to 1st March 2020. Through this endeavour, we aim to inculcate debating skills and diplomacy in young and promising students.

HNLU IMUNC is the flagship event of Hidayatullah National Law University. We aim to provide a platform to the students around the globe to enable them to debate and engage with different voices in order to form a well rounded and informed perspective on contemporary issues.

Our MUN is an attempt to encourage today’s youth to raise their opinions as they are tomorrow’s hope. With a world that is intertwined where each move made in international diplomacy is thoroughly scrutinized, our platform provides an opportunity for young students to engage in a simulation of the same.

About Colossus

Even though chances are that you’ve probably already scrolled past this page of the brochure and dived straight into the event directory, we’ve decided that it is our mission to elucidate how amazing our cultural fest is!

The breathtaking amalgamation of everything with a touch of our very own Chhattisgarhi culture, the jaw-dropping unparalleled scenic beauty of the HNLU sky and reflection of the stars with a lake never fails to awe us. Also, the unexplored flavours of Raipur’s street food are something to yearn for. And these are just some of the things that set Colossus apart, but to be honest, we haven’t even scratched the surface.

Buckle up for an intense platform for activities ranging from sports, literary, art, culture, fashion and an amazing partying experience. Apart from the overwhelming number of participants, Colossus has played host to various famous artists from The Local Train to Coke Studio, to being a Sunburn Campus, we’ve done it all. And fortunately for you, we plan to outdo ourselves.

So, what are you waiting for? HNLU invites you to experience those 72 hours of hazy, sleepless and undeniably euphoric memories that you’ll want to relive for times to come.

About IMUNC 2020

IMUNC 2020 will be bigger and better comprising delegates from across the length and breadth of the country. In this edition, the conference would comprise four committees and would attract approximately 300 National and International delegates.

With intense debating on key global and national issues, it promises a thrilling experience for all its delegates. The theme chosen for this year is “Contemporary global tensions focusing especially on the situation in India.”

We will organise four committees as mentioned below with their respective agendas:

United Nations General Assembly: Protection of global climate for present and future generations of humankind.
United Nations Security Council: The emerging conflict between the US & Iran and its Global Aftermath.
United Nations Human Rights Council: The human rights and fundamental freedoms of the people in Kashmir.
Lok Sabha: Citizenship Laws in India with special reference to the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019.

We, at HNLU IMUNC, believe in deliberating to create a difference and thus the conference would be highly beneficial, not only in terms of delegates’ experience but also in contributing substantially to the fora of international policymaking.

About Previous Edition

The third edition of Hidayatullah National Law University’s International Model United Nations (HNLU IMUNC) saw a huge turnout of over 250 delegates who gained insight into the working of the United Nations and Lok Sabha as well as the dynamics of national and international relations by assuming the roles of UN representatives, members of other international bodies and national cabinets. The last edition was an exciting opportunity for the students to deliberate on the issues that world leaders faced, such as the treatment of Uighur Muslims in China and Reconciling the Right of Data Privacy with Global Security by drafting resolutions in response to the same. Participants developed their abilities to work in harmony with equally motivated and passionate delegates.

Application Procedure

Anyone between the age of 14 and 25 years who is willing and interested to be a part of HNLU IMUNC.

Payment Structure

Payment for Individual Delegate with Accommodation: INR 1600/-
Payment for Individual Delegate without Accommodation: INR 1000-/
Payment for Double Delegation with Accommodation: INR 3000-/
Payment of Double Delegation without Accommodation: INR 2000/-
Payment for International Delegates with Accommodation: INR 2500/-

The payment covers the cost of Delegate kit, food (breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner) for the three days of the conference and the cost of entry for all the celebrity artist performances.

Accommodation

Food and accommodation will be provided from 12:00 pm on 27th February to 12:00 pm on 2nd March 2019.

For checking in early or checking out late than the stipulated time each delegate has to pay an extra charge of INR 300/- for accommodation which will not include food.
