Harish Salve Joins NLU Delhi as Distinguished Professor

National Law University Delhi has announced the appointment of Senior Advocate and renowned Jurist Shri Harish Salve as its Distinguished Professor. Widely regarded as one of India’s foremost legal minds and with extensive expertise spanning constitutional law, international arbitration, taxation, and human rights, Salve has built a distinguished career. His professional work spans across jurisdictions, and he currently holds the prestigious position of King’s Counsel in England and Wales.

 Mr. Salve has represented the Government of India in several high-stakes matters, earning recognition for his expertise in public international law and complex commercial disputes. Earlier, he also served the nation as the Solicitor General of India between 1999 and 2002. His global stature and diverse professional background make his association with NLU Delhi a landmark development for the institution.

While welcoming him, Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai, Vice Chancellor of NLU Delhi, noted that Mr. Salve’s presence would strongly motivate the University’s students, scholars, and faculty members. Apart from delivering lectures, he will contribute to shaping the academic vision of the University, particularly in the areas of legal practice and professional development. This collaboration is expected to open new horizons for the University’s pursuit of excellence in legal education.
