Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys Limited (IMFA), a prominent Indian producer with a fully integrated ferrochrome manufacturing operation, has taken a significant step toward green energy adoption by partnering with JSW Green Energy Limited. Legal advisory services for this joint venture were provided by DMD Advocates.
IMFA, established in 1961, has cultivated a reputation for manufacturing high-grade value-added ferrochrome. Its vertically integrated business operations enable it to remain cost-efficient while maintaining quality leadership in both domestic and international markets.
Under this initiative, IMFA is set to invest a total of ₹83.26 crore in JSW Green Energy One Limited and JSW Green Energy Seven Limited. This investment will be directed toward the development of a hybrid renewable energy infrastructure with a contracted capacity of 70 MW, consisting of 50 MW (AC) of solar and 100 MW of wind power.
The energy will be supplied to IMFA under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), ensuring long-term energy security and aligning with the company’s objectives of sustainability and reduced carbon emissions.
DMD Advocates provided end-to-end legal assistance for this strategic collaboration, including due diligence, contract drafting, and transactional negotiations. The firm’s involvement was instrumental in shaping the legal and structural framework of the transaction.
