Mr. Yash Giri, a Delhi-based, final year law student, is one of the many people who have been resentful towards the pitiable condition of people falling victims to black marketing with hospitals charging exorbitant rates for their service. However, he is one of the very few who have taken an initiative to help people who have been duped by black marketers over supply of oxygen cylinders and other medical equipment during the raging COVID-19 pandemic.
Since 1st May 2021, Mr. Giri has been assisting people each day with filing online or physical FIRs against scammers. Not only this, he guides them over a telephonic or Whatsapp conversation how to make their FIR stronger for the police to take quick cognizance of their case. He takes over 50-60 distressed calls round the clock to ensure timely action.
How did it start?
After coming across shocking stories of people paying as much as 2.5 lakhs for an oxygen cylinder only to be tricked, Mr. Giri decided to do his bit in bringing fraudsters to books. He took to Instagram to communicate his intention to provide assistance in filing FIRs. This story was widely circulated and amassed around 3 lakh views. Rest is history.
