About the Symposium

The South Asian Symposium on IPR for Startups & MSMEs, 2025 is a flagship international forum being organised under the 2nd South Asian Global Intellectual Property Summit, 2025 by the Centre for Development of Intellectual Property and Research (CDIPR), Naovina Development of Intellectual Property and Research Foundation in Collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN). This symposium is not only an academic dialogue but also a strategic platform for policy, innovation and entrepreneurship. It focuses on empowering Startups and MSMEs in South Asia by building robust IP-centric business models and equipping them to harness intellectual property (IP) for sustainable growth, commercialization and global competitiveness. The symposium will bring together entrepreneurs, startup founders, MSME leaders, legal experts, policymakers, investors and scholars to critically explore the intersection of intellectual property, business strategy, and economic development in the South Asian region.

Format and Presentation

The symposium will be conducted virtually to ensure wide accessibility across South Asia and beyond. Selected authors will present their work before an international audience of policymakers, startup leaders, academicians and investors.

  • Abstract Submission Deadline: 7th September 2025
    (Abstracts should be between 250–300 words, clearly indicating the research question, methodology and relevance to the Symposium themes.)
  • Notification of Abstract Selection: 9th September 2025
    (Selected authors will be notified via email and invited to submit full papers.)
  • Full Paper Submission Deadline: 11th September 2025
    (Full-length papers should be 3,000–4,000 words and follow the Symposium’s Submission Guidelines.)
  • Presentation Confirmation by Authors: 12th September 2025
    (Selected participants must confirm attendance and complete registration.)

Abstract: Each submission must include a concise abstract not exceeding 300 words summarising the core ideas of the paper with 5 keywords.

Originality:

  • Submissions must be entirely original and unpublished.
  • Plagiarism should not exceed 10%, and AI-generated content is not allowed. Submissions violating these guidelines will be rejected.

Co-Authorship: Papers may have up to two authors.

Review Process:

  • two-stage internal review will assess submissions.
  • Authors may be required to revise their papers based on feedback regarding content, structure, or formatting.
