The National Law Institute University’s Centre for Parliamentary Studies (NLIU-CPS) is inviting submissions of original and unpublished manuscripts for the annual NLIU-CPS Journal for Legislative Drafting and Parliamentary Research (JLDPR). About the Journal

The NLIU-CPS Journal for Legislative Drafting and Parliamentary Research (JLDPR) is an annual, double-blind, peer-reviewed publication by CPS. The journal focuses on constitutional law, administrative law, parliamentary studies, and public policy research. Notable contributions to the journal include a foreword by Justice Sanjay Karol, Judge, Supreme Court of India, and a Commencement Note for the 2nd edition by Padma Shri Dr. T.K. Viswanathan.

Theme

JLDPR invites manuscripts on constitutional law, legislative drafting, parliamentary research, and public policy. Submissions should address contemporary issues, demonstrate scholarly rigor, and contribute to academic discussions in these areas.

Submission Categories

  1. Long Articles: 5000 – 10,000 words
  2. Short Articles: 3000 – 5000 words
  3. Case Comments: 1500 – 3000 words
  4. Legislative Briefs: 1500 – 3000 words

Co-authorship: Allowed for up to three authors per manuscript.

Originality: Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and free of plagiarism. Any instance of plagiarism, including ideas, will result in rejection.

Submission Guidelines

  • Abstract: Submissions must include an abstract of up to 300 words (not included in the word limit).
  • Formatting:
    • Heading & Sub-headings: Times New Roman, size 12, bold.
    • Body: Times New Roman, size 12, line spacing 1.5.
    • Footnotes: Line spacing 1, adhering to the Oxford University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities (4th ed.).
  • Substantive footnoting is not permitted.
  • Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.docx or .doc).
