About the University:
The National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA) has been established by the Government of Assam by way of enactment of the National Law School and Judicial Academy, Assam Act, 2009 (Assam Act No. XXV of 2009). The University is dedicated to imparting comprehensive legal education and training at all levels to achieve excellence in legal education and to promote cultural, legal, and ethical values to foster the rule of law and the objectives enshrined in the Constitution of India.
The University has established several Research Centres to promote advanced legal studies and research. The Centres have been set up by the University with the intent to address the socio-legal issues and challenges with a specific thrust on the North-East region.
About CDSHL:
The Centre for Disability Studies & Health Laws (CDSHL) at National Law University, Assam serves as a comprehensive platform that seeks to bring together individuals from academia, research, government departments, non-governmental organizations, and other key stakeholders. The Centre for Disability Studies & Health Laws (CDSHL), is the only of its kind functioning in the North-East Region. While bridging this gap, the centre will try to set a standard for the right to ‘act’ in terms of modern-day disability jurisprudence. This centre will serve as a role model for taking dialogue into reality.
About the Blog:
The Centre for Disability Studies and Health Laws’ Blog is the Student Editorial Board’s blog where students, legal professionals, and practitioners send and publish articles on issues surrounding disability studies and health laws.
Theme:
- The Editorial Board invites submissions for the Blog on the broader theme of: “Disability Studies and Health Laws”.
- The blog encourages and considers work that cut across multiple disciplinary streams on the given subject matter.
- There is no bar on the subject of the submitted pieces. The author can submit on any subject of law within the broader theme of “Disability Studies and Health Laws”.

Submission Guidelines:
- Submissions must be original. By submitting an article, the author undertakes that it has not been submitted, accepted, or published elsewhere.
- All submissions shall be made to cds@nluassam.ac.in with the subject “Submission for CDSHL Blog”.
- AI & Plagiarism will result in summary rejection of the submission (including self-plagiarism).
- Submissions must be made in .doc/.docx formats only.
Word Limit & Styling:
- Submissions should ideally be between 1200-2000 words in length.
- Co-authorship allowed for a maximum of two (2) authors.
- The manuscript should be free from any artwork or border lines.
- The content should be written in Times New Roman Font with a size of 12. Line Spacing should be 1.5.
- The article should contain endnotes or hyperlinks and NOT footnotes. All endnotes must be in Times New Roman font, with size 10 and line spacing.
Author Details:
- Submissions made via email shall necessarily contain the following in the body of the email: Name of the Author, Institution/Organisation of affiliation, Year of Study (If applicable), Short Bio (Not exceeding 50 words).
Review Process:
- Submissions for the blog shall be reviewed on a rolling basis.
- Receipt of submissions shall be conveyed at the earliest.
- The Editorial Board may take up to 04 weeks for the review of submissions.
- For any editorial changes suggested after preliminary acceptance, the author is requested to respond at the earliest.
- These changes made by the author will then be subjected to another review. The final decision regarding the acceptance/rejection will be conveyed only after this process.
- Due to the high volume of submissions, the email response time shall be longer than expected.
- Relaxation or changes in any rules is subject to the discretion of the Editorial Board. The Editorial Board has full discretion to reject articles at any stage.
