Blackstone has acquired a minority stake in two Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) of Bagmane Group.
Blackstone is a global investment giant specializing in private equity, real estate, and asset management, known for its strategic investments worldwide. Bagmane Group is a prominent commercial real estate developer in Bangalore, recognized for its premium office spaces and IT parks.
Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, a leading Indian law firm, provided legal advisory services to Blackstone for this transaction. The legal advisory team was led by partners Reeba Chacko, Kota Chandan, and Krithika Chandrasekaran. They were supported by senior associates and associates specializing in corporate law, real estate, litigation, and competition law.
Blackstone’s acquisition, approved by the Competition Commission of India (CCI), involves its entity, BREP Asia III India Holding Co VIII. Blackstone is one of the world’s largest alternative investment firms, managing assets across multiple sectors. The investment includes stakes in Bagmane Developers and Bagmane Rio, key players in commercial real estate.
Bagmane Group, known for developing premium office spaces in India, operates SPVs engaged in leasing and developing commercial real estate, along with hospitality and renewable energy projects. The deal strengthens Blackstone’s position in India’s rapidly expanding commercial real estate sector.
