A software engineer from Bengaluru, identified as Srikant, has accused his wife of physical and mental harassment. He alleged that she demanded ₹5,000 per day from him to continue living together. According to reports, he also claimed that she physically assaulted him and even attempted to injure his private parts.

Srikant reportedly shared a video online, where his wife can allegedly be heard making these demands. The video has sparked widespread reactions on social media. In addition to financial demands, Srikant claimed that his wife was against having a biological child, fearing it would affect her physical appearance. Instead, she insisted on adopting a child, a stance that led to further disagreements between them.

The couple, married since 2022, has allegedly been embroiled in constant disputes. Srikant stated that his wife’s actions negatively impacted his professional life, claiming that she deliberately disrupted his work by playing loud music and dancing. This, he said, eventually led to him losing his job.

Following repeated conflicts, Srikant filed for divorce, after which his wife allegedly demanded ₹45 lakh as a settlement. He further alleged that she threatened self-harm if he refused.

However, when confronted by the media, Srikant’s wife denied all allegations, calling them an attempt to defame her. She countered that he had fabricated the accusations to manipulate public perception.

The case was registered as a Non-Cognizable Report (NCR). However, police noted discrepancies, pointing out that Srikant’s written complaint did not mention the ₹5,000 daily demand. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
