AZB & Partners represented Karan Johar of Dharma Productions in acquiring a minority stake in “Mumbai Art Fair Private Limited”.
Karan Johar’s investment builds on his prior involvement with the fair—often called Art Mumbai—as its “cultural ambassador”, a role in which he curated events and led dialogues designed to connect Bollywood with the art sphere.
Before making this financial commitment, he was already an engaged attendee at the fair, having purchased pieces of art himself.
The Mumbai Art Fair, known interchangeably as Art Mumbai, stands as a leading showcase in India’s commercial and cultural capital. Since its launch, it has sought to offer galleries and creators a forum to present their creations, encouraging interaction between artists and the public.
Its offerings span a broad spectrum of modern and contemporary works from South Asia and beyond—covering paintings, sculptures, installations, and more.
