The Central Government has officially notified the appointment of Justice Manmohan as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India, following the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium. Justice Manmohan, previously the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, has an illustrious career marked by his significant contributions to the judiciary since his appointment as a judge of the Delhi High Court in 2008.

The Supreme Court Collegium emphasized that Justice Manmohan’s seniority and extensive experience make him a deserving candidate for elevation. He ranks second in the all-India seniority list of High Court judges and is the senior-most judge from the Delhi High Court, which currently has limited representation on the Supreme Court bench.

Justice Manmohan’s elevation is seen as a step toward addressing regional representation concerns in the Supreme Court while reinforcing its intellectual and judicial prowess. The notification of his appointment marks a pivotal development in the Indian judiciary, underscoring the significance of experienced leadership at the nation’s highest judicial forum.
