Donald Trump has crossed the crucial 270 mark and has become the 47th President of the United States of America. He defeated the incumbent Vice-President and Democrat nominee Kamala Harris and secured victory.
The 2024 U.S. Presidential Elections saw the comeback of Donald Trump as the President for the second time. He was first elected as the 45th President of the United States of America and served from 2017 to 2021.
The Vice-President candidate from the Republican Party is James David Vance, who has been serving as a Senator from Ohio since 2023.
“America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate,” Trump said at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in Florida on 6th November, 2024.
Trump sealed his victory by winning Wisconsin, which was a key state in this battle.
While the U.S. grapples with issues such as unemployment, economy, immigration, race, gender, women’s rights, gun-violence and increased crime rate, it will be intriguing to see how the new administration tackles them.
The Trump years will also significantly influence the international scenario like the Russia- Ukraine war, Israel-Palestine crisis, global trade and economy, and various other issues.
Trump will assume office on 25th January, 2025.
