On 6th and 7th August 2021, Amity Law School (NOIDA), Amity University, U.P. organized a two day’s online workshop on the theme, “Sociological Aspect of the tribal culture and folklore in the contemporary India” with the Tribal Rights Forum. This Two day’s comprehensive workshop was an effort to generate extensive knowledge regarding the constitution, status, and the existence of the tribes.
Speakers for day-1 (6th August) Mr. Pradhyumna Malpani, Forum In-charge TRF and Mr. Vikranta Barsay, Internship Coordinator TRF have talked about the Status of tribes in India and about Tribal Economics. The session was insightful and all the participants learned about the emergence of Aryans and their development in Indian civilization, work by TRIFED, transformation in the tribal economy in India from decades, tribal rights with respect to Indian laws and much more. The session was acknowledged by Dr. D.K. Bandyopadhyay, Chairman, ALSN and Dr. Shefali Raizada, Additional Director/Joint Head, ALSN.
Speaker for Day-2, (7th August) Ms. Kashish Agarwal, executive member TRF & co-founder of Wom-Ence had covered topics like the significance of tribal communities, problems & challenges faced by tribes, vanished art forms, their relevance along with topics on the theme, “Tribal Art & Culture”. After the insightful session by Ms. Kashish Agarwal, the Valedictory session was started around 12:00 p.m. The Valedictory session was acknowledged with the presence of Mr. Chetan Sharma, Senior Advocate, Additional Solicitor General of India, Dr. D.K. Bandyopadhyay, Chairman, ALSN and Dr. Shefali Raizada, Additional Director/Joint Head, ALSN, Dr. Swati Bijawat, Faculty Convenor-Tribal Workshop, Faculties, ALSN and Students, ALSN. During the valedictory session, a Souvenir of the workshop and a Book “The Paradox of the Tribal Identity” was released. The book majorly focussed on emphasizing the contribution of the Tribes, underlining the involvement of the Tribes in terms of culture, heritage, literature and art. The book was the result of the efforts added by Dr. Shefali Raizada (Editor-in-Chief), Dr. Swati Bijawat (Editor) and Ms. Ekta Gupta (Associate Editor).
